This free, step-by-step self-study resource is designed for English speakers. Its 84 practical lessons help you develop useful Spanish for everyday life and work in Spain, progressing from essential survival phrases to more independent communication.
What will you learn?
You will learn how to introduce yourself, exchange personal information, ask for clarification, travel around the city, shop, discuss daily routines, understand household and workplace instructions, describe health problems, communicate by telephone or WhatsApp and take part in a simple job interview.
The lessons are organised into ten progressive stages, so you can clearly see what to study next and return to earlier topics whenever you need more practice.
One hour of active Spanish practice
Each lesson is designed for approximately one hour of active learning—not one hour of reading.
Instead of spending most of that time reading long explanations, you will listen to useful expressions, repeat them aloud, answer questions, practise realistic situations, write short responses and check what you can remember. Grammar is introduced briefly and only when it helps you understand and use the Spanish presented in the lesson.
Can Complete Beginners Use Learn Spanish for Beginners?
Yes. You do not need any previous knowledge of Spanish. Stage 1 begins with essential expressions for people who understand little or no Spanish, while the instructions and explanations are provided in clear English.
